FLUXUS F ultrasonic liquid flowmeters measure the flow rate of liquids non-invasively with transducers mounted on the outside of the pipe. Since there is no need to open the pipe to attach the clamp-on liquid flowmeters, the installation of a measuring point does not affect user system operation in any way. The liquid flowmeter does not present any risk of leaks, it doesn’t cause any pressure drop and is not subject to wear and tear by the medium flowing inside.
FLUXUS F is available as both portable and stationary liquid flowmeter types. FLEXIM can supply basic ultrasonic liquid sensors for non-invasive flow measurement of water, special measuring systems for high-precision recording of the lowest flow rates or for flow measurement of cryogenic to really high temperatures, or even for use in potentially explosive areas or permanently submerged under water. FLEXIM is the only supplier of SIL2-certified clamp-on ultrasonic transducers for use for safety functions.
For temporary measuring tasks, e.g. to check existing wetted flowmeters or in places where no flow measurement is installed, there is practically no alternative to non-invasive measurement with a portable version of FLUXUS F liquid flow measurement devices.
The stationary versions of FLUXUS F liquid flowmeters provide an impressive performance with their permanently reliable operation, practically no wear and no maintenance. Because a flow measuring point can be set up without opening the pipeline, it usually turns out to be cheaper than installing a wetted flowmeter when considering the overall costs.
Flowmeters for Gases
FLEXIM's series FLUXUS G gas flowmeters set the standards for non-invasive gas metering. Clamped onto the outside of the pipe wall, these bi-directional gas flow measurement devices measure any kind of gas, are independent of pressure peaks, vortexes, lateral or pulsating gas flows and do not cause any pressure drop.
Even the flow measurement of wet gas is not a challenge for FLEXIM gas turbine flowmeters. By integrating additional process parameters such as pressure and temperature, FLUXUS gas flowmeters also provide high precision measurement of mass flow rate as well as operational and standard volume flows.
Temporary flow measurements are possible almost anywhere with FLUXUS portable gas flowmeters, including the FLUXUS G601 and the FLUXUS G608. Our complete range of clamp-on ultrasonic gas flow meters also includes the FLUXUS G721.
Accuracy and reliability are these gas flow sensors’ strongest distinguishers. Our ultrasonic gas flowmeters are specifically matched, paired and feature integrated temperature compensation which guarantees excellent zero stability as well as high precision at very low pressures and low flow velocities.
Flowmeters for Steam
In many industries, steam is a valuable medium for transporting thermal energy. Steam generation is often complex and costly, so steam flow measurements are usually taken, whether for billing purposes, for process monitoring or control.
With our FLUXUS ST ultrasonic flowmeters for steam, you can determine the flow, volume flow and mass flow rate of your steam reliably and non-invasively.
Conventional steam meters, such as differential pressure meters using orifice plates and vortex flowmeters are built-in instruments, that are directly exposed to the challenging steam process conditions.
FLUXUS flowmeters for steam are mounted on the outside of the pipe. They are neither exposed to the process conditions nor do they interfere with the process. Reductions of the pipe cross section and associated pressure losses are avoided. The steam flowmeters of the FLUXUS ST series do not have any moving parts and are therefore maintenance-free. The installation of these clamp-on, ultrasonic steam flowmeters is uncomplicated and without process interruptions.
Our flowmeters G721 ST and G601/G608 ST are suitable for superheated and saturated steam measurement including volume and mass flow at temperatures up to 180°C.
With our flowmeter G722 ST-HT you can have saturated and superheated steam measurement even up to temperatures of 400°C!
Compressed Air Flowmeters
Measuring compressed air flows precisely in all conditions with a high-pressure air flow meter is the key to improving the energy efficiency of compressed air systems while reducing costs.
Using state-of-the-art technology, the non-invasive FLUXUS CA ultrasonic air flowmeter series, provides the best measurement solution.
FLUXUS CA permanent or portable compressed air flowmeters are ideally suited for carrying out energy audits, metering the consumption of compressed air, checking existing meters, detecting potential leaks, balancing plant networks as well as monitoring compressor efficiency.
By measuring from the pipe wall outside, FLUXUS CA flow meter for compressed air systems is completely free of wear and tear and requires zero maintenance. Moreover, due to its measurement principle, there is no risk of secondary contamination of the compressed air, neither can the compressed air flow measurement devices themselves be a risk of potential leaks.
FLUXUS CA CFM meter for compressed air measures reliably at metal pipes down to 3bar (plastic pipes without limitation), is extremely sensitive to low flows down to 0,01 m/s and can be applied at pipes sizes from DN15 to DN250.
Both the permanent or portable compressed air flowmeters are also available as ATEX / IECEx Zone 2 or FM Class I, Div. 2 approved variants.
Mass Flowmeters, Density & Concentration Measurement Devices
FLEXIM density measurement devices and mass flowmeters are used to measure concentration or Brix, density, refractive index or sound velocity of binary fluids such as BRIX, Sulfuric Acid/Oleum or Glycol directly.
Real time inline analytics are becoming an increasingly important part of process controls, driving the demand for ever more challenging applications. FLEXIM’s solutions for measuring mass and density excel where conventual technologies struggle.
The PIOX R inline process refractometer combines the long-established concept of the concentration meter with the innovative transmitted light principle. This unique technology provides online concentration mass flow measurement with outstanding precision.
Using ultrasonic velocity, the PIOX S provides the online concentration and density of process liquids. The clamp-on technology with no wetted parts is ideal for analyzing challenging fluids.
Both systems can also be used in combination, to analyze more complex media in customer specific applications. The FLEXIM laboratory in Berlin supports you in your analytical challenge with its vast library of mass flow measurement devices or individual analysis.
When security matters PIOX ID is your choice. Drift and calibration free media identification to give you to peace of mind about your chemical storage.
The FLUXUS H721 is the standard volume meter for hydrocarbons. Additionally, it provides you API gravity, operational density and kinematic viscosity. In short, the ideal flow and analytical measuring system for the hydrocarbon processing industry (HPI).
Thermal Energy Meters
Whether it is energy management, internal balancing, or monitoring – the capture of thermal energy data in heating and cooling systems is an important measurement task in areas such as building management, manufacturing industry and other energy-intensive operations.
FLEXIM provides an extremely flexible, reliable and, above all, easy-to-install measuring system for this purpose.
Compact energy meter
Based on FLEXIM's clamp-on flow measurement technology, FLUXUS TE combines the volumetric meter and energy calculator in just one transmitter. Equipped with up to 2 flow measuring channels and up to 4 temperature inputs, it delivers measured values such as current flow or mass flow, thermal energy rate, temperatures and also corresponding counter functions.
Thanks to the flexibly programmable electronics, applications such as heating, and cooling can be easily implemented. A large media database contains the necessary heat coefficients for almost all typical media such as water, water-glycol mixtures and many other heat transfer media.
Outstanding measuring principle
Depending on the measuring task, the FLUXUS F532 TE is available for standard applications in buildings and industry, and the FLUXUS F721 TE for more demanding applications.
In addition, the FLUXUS F601 Energy represents the portable variant – flexible and non-invasive measurement of heat quantities and volume flows.
All variants use FLEXIM's ultrasonic transit time difference method in the clamp-on technique. Sophisticated signal processing enables an enormous measuring dynamic of 0.01 m/s up to 25 m/s, with high measuring accuracy at the same time. Incorrectly configured measuring ranges are thus the past, and even the smallest amounts of energy are reliably detected.
FLUXUS TE can be used on all raw materials with nominal diameters from DN 25 to DN 2000. Temperature ranges from -40 °C to +240 °C can be covered, with customized solutions even up to +400°C. Both the permanently installed and the portable version of the measuring system are available as ATEX / IECEx Zone 2 or FM Call I Div 2 approved variants.
